TransCore Partners with KUBRA to Bring Convenient Toll Cash Payment Options to Pennsylvania Turnpike Travelers

The COVID-19 pandemic drove the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to minimize the interaction and handling of cash at its toll booths. As a result, it implemented All Electronic Tolling (AET) 18 months ahead of schedule by closing the toll booths. Transitioning to AET required the Commission to find a way for customers who previously paid cash for their tolls to continue to do so. TransCore who provides back-office services to the PA Turnpike for its E-ZPass and Toll By Plate programs, partnered with the KUBRA Cash Payment Network to provide the solution. Doing so gave Pennsylvania Turnpike customers the ability to use cash to pay their Toll By Plate invoices or add funds to their E-ZPass accounts at one of the 70,000 retail locations within KUBRA’s nationwide retail cash payment network.
